Welcome to the Yellow Springs (Ohio) fiber web site. This is strictly a non-official, informal collection of my experiences with the new YS Fiber network. I hope to be able to install and test out the new network and then give others the benefit of my experiences.

Yellow Springs basically currently has two internet/voice/tv providers: Spectrum and AT&T (aka U-verse). My current internet/voice provider is Spectrum and my experiences will obviously reflect that, although I’ve had AT&T in the past and their configurations and capabilities are similar.

As this paragraph is written, 1/27/23, I’ve been using the fiber network for 3 weeks. To sum it up, the experience so far has been superior. The speeds are faster than advertised (when was the last time that happened?) and the uptime has been 100%.

I’ve recorded my experiences on a blog (of sorts) in the left-hand margin and have more detailed pages on a variety of topics as listed across the top menu bar.
